A note from Wendy

I want to express how blessed I feel having such a wonderful group of families enrolled.  This really showed in the last couple of weeks when we were planning Clydes surgery date.  Everyone was willing to take a day or two to keep their children home during this time, even when the date got changed.  Thank you everyone for your emotional support, changed hours and dates, meatloaf and random help with the children.  Clyde is feeling so much better and is well on his way to recovery.

Thanks again,

Wendy

Our First Annual Picnic

Thank you to everyone who helped make out 1st Annual Cookout a success.  We were really happy to see the grownups making connections with each other and relax for a little while.  The kids seemed to be excited to see thier friends on the weekend and share some lasting memories with each other.  We shared some laughs, advice, great recipes and at the close of the evening, we shared some marshmallows.  We are happy to announce that there will be a 2nd Annual Cookout!  We will let you know when that will happen!

A note from Wendy

It has come to my attention that on occasion, people need change for their weekly payment.  Instead of coming to me or Jen for proper change for this issue people may be looking through other envelopes to make change.  This is not an acceptable practice.  Therefore, I am putting in a new labeled envelope for each of our the families tuition every week.  Please put your payment in this envelope and seal it immediately.  Your receipts will be stored in a different place, so when you need them, please let me know.  This will ensure confidentiality.

Thank you,

Wendy

***ALLERGIES***

                           Various foods containing peanuts

This is a reminder that we have a child in the daycare who is SEVERELY allergic to nuts and tree nuts.  For  the health and safety of this child, please make sure that your child does not come in with any food containing nuts, such as peanut butter and most types of granola bars.  If your child has had nuts or a food containing nuts before coming here, please wash your childs hands and face.  Also, the holidays are approaching and we love it when the children can share their traditions.  If you are bringing in a food item, please prepare it without nuts or bring in the label to us if it is store bought.  We really appreciate your help in this matter.
The other food allergy we have is dairy and eggs.  You do not have to avoid it completely, but let us know if you are bringing in a food item that has dairy so we can have a substitute prepared ahead of time so the child does not feel left out of the celebration.

Thank you,
Wendy and Jen

Mr. Dave.....PLEASE READ

Mr. Dave has been coming in to our program twice a month, offering the children music enrichment opportunies.  He is great with the kids and they have come to really look forward to his arrival.  However, we regret to inform you that collectively, you guys are behind in Mr. Dave payments by  over $200.00 and Wendy has been paying out of pocket for this.  If this is not cought up by November 7, the next day he comes, we will have to cancel this extra program.  We feel strongly that this is a positive experience for the children and not only are they having fun, but they are using thier large and small motor skills, language, hand-eye coordination and are introduced to pitch changes and instruments.  In an article written by Lutz Jancke, "Dege and colleagues even show that pre-schoolers can benefit from a program of musical training to increase their phonological awareness." Please see one of us to see how to catch up.

Thank you,
Wendy and Jen

Summer re-cap

This summer was extremely busy and went by very quickly.  As we fully transition into Fall, I want to take a quick look back as well as share a few pictures from the summer.  First of all, there were a few changes in children.  Ryan went off to his new preschool, Jackson and Hunter came back for the summer and Boden and Addison joined us full time.
What were we busy doing?  We went on zoo trips, used sidewalk chalk, rode bicycles and cars in the driveway, did lots of singing and dancing, watched our caterpillars turn into beautiful butterflies, played in the sprinkler, painted, did puppet shows, enjoyed the warmer weather, got really good at the slide, played with sand, practiced our colors, letters, numbers and so much more!  Here are some pictures to give you a little taste of your child's summer at Peek-A-Boo! Home Day Care!!!
